Ladan joins us on the Canada team, and she will be working on data science components for GeoHarmony. Ladan is continuing PhD studies at the University of British Columbia Okanagan and is based in Kelowna.
Ladan holds a Master of Science in Information Technology and a Master of Science in Computer Science and is a lecturer and research assistant at UBCO. Ladan will work directly with Jake McGregor and the rest of the GeoHarmony team, with her work aiming to identify the most promising sites for drilling bore holes in unexplored (greenfield) areas, as well as predicting the viability of the nearby location using data from existing (brownfield) mines. By analyzing the geological data of current mines, ML algorithms can predict potential mineral deposits in nearby areas. This not only streamlines exploration efforts but also increases the chances of discovering viable mining sites, thereby reducing financial and environmental risks associated with exploratory drilling.

James is a proficient user of most mining and GIS software tools such as Leapfrog, Rocscience, MXDeposits, Reflex IQlogger and Arc GIS. He holds a B.Sc. in Geological Sciences from the University of Saskatchewan. James will work directly with Jake McGregor, Ladan Tazik and the rest of the team on GeoHarmony projects, using his practical knowledge to influence our Ai and Machine Learning targeting products.
